Generally, my critical thinking skills (which, by the way, have gotten pretty good over the years) won't allow me to swallow most of what I see or hear in today's media.

The most effective campaigns to me are the political forums. I listen to CNN, then Fox News, and then determine that the truth is in the middle somewhere. My only "rhetorical device," as you put it, is still my critical thinking skill. That's all I need.

I use the Internet alot, and rarely watch any TV at all. I pretty much tone out a lot of the advertising on Websites; however, the past couple days there has been a GEICO ad on my MSN Homepage. It has their gecko dude (hm-mm, just assumed the gecko is male) suggesting that with all the money you save by switching to GEICO you could start a new hobby like... and then you have to click the ad to see what the gecko is up to: like bumble bee racing, or goat collecting.

It's cute, the gecko is now their established trademark, the hobby answer is funny---especially the goat collecting one, because you could almost swear they going to say 'snake charming'--that's what the first picture looks like.

I guess I like the off-beat. Like the Budweiser frogs awhile back. Or the bouncing ball VW commercials.

I DO NOT like going to a web page and finding cockroaches crawling around a banner ad... won't even stay on the page!

i like the catchy jingle of the new budweiser select commercial. also, the jingle of the coke with the people skating around. i usually like good songs in a commercial, i don't know why.

It's your own homework. It's meant to be done by you.
