What holiday? I have gone on what I call "holiday weekends" alone. They are rejuvenating and relaxing.

I've gone on trips alone. It has its good and bad points. I can do whatever I want, spend as long as I want at sites that interest me. One trip I took to improve my language skills (Spanish). Being alone forced me to talk with the locals (Mérida, Mexico). When I hooked up with some other Anglos, I spoke much more English.

The bad part about being by yourself is that you have no one with whom to share the new and wonderful things you are seeing. Also, as a woman, I had to be more careful about where and when I went places than those traveling in groups.

Altogether I count traveling alone as a good experience.

A totally normal person, for example. A person who is considering ending a relationship with a spouse or significant other. A person who wants to consider how exactly they feel, without anyone like friends or family influencing their decision.
A person who is inbetween relationships. Sometimes, people do not have "backup" people waiting in the wings incase their current relationship does not workout. Someone who wants to go somewhere by themself, and not worry about having to entertain others for once.

Depends on where you are going.
If you have tickets to go to jamaica
have your own STELLA (stella got her groove back) ADVENTURE
If the stuff is already paid for, you should go.
You will meet new and fun people and get a chance to evaluate the 'friendship' of the person who stood you up
You might return to find out that this person is unworthy of you.

Why not? Why wait for someone to make up their mind about whether they want to go or not?

I like to do things and go places alone...less stress and no "extras".

I would!! By yourself you can go wherever you want and do whatever. I went on a trip with a friend and she royally screwed me over by the end of the trip I wanted to throw her out the plane window!!

I did. Went to Death Valley National Park for a week by myself. Loved every minute of it! Took my girlfriend the next year, we both loved it.

I would .. and I do. I am secure enough in myself to be able to go alone and know that I do not need to be surrounded by an entourage to be able to enjoy my vacation.
