Jaqueline and Gilles were playing with rocks at the edge of a cliff which was 80 m above the beach below. Gilles threw a 1 kg rock upwards with a speed of 30 m/s. Let the acceleration due to gravity be -10 m/s^2.

I've calculated kenetic and potential energy

I need to know how to get the speed and height of the rock after each second that passes by. Any help is greatly appreciated.

create an equation for the speed of the rock and another for the height.
speed=l30-10tl
height=-5t^2+30t+80

You do not have to calculate energy.

Speed alters @ -10m/s^2 for the upward journey and 10m/s^2 for downwards.

Use the eqns.

v = u+at

v^2 = u^2 + 2as
