they said Simon embarrassed them.but they embarrassed themselves by coming on TV singing like that!

Well they know the show and they know how they could be potentially treated. Also, if I was that embarrassed, I would go home and hide, not appear on the Today Show.

If you are referring to the two people (one including a former special olympian) who had comments made about their appearance, I think it was a little harsh. Of course, that is what the show is about, and the editors are to blame as well for putting it in the episode. Those two young men have agents now and are getting far more attention than if they had actually not been rejected on American Idol. Of course, I'm not one to say who has talent, because I personally think the autistic young man sang God Bless America better than I ever could.

I saw a clip. They came on the show knowing who Simon Cowell is. I'm not saying he should've said what he said, but Simon is Simon. Those boys got a minute of fame and I guess that will satisfy all. American Idol got some publicity and the boys got some exposure.

I agree with the previous poster. I thought the guy in special Olympics who has slight autism did a good job on God Bless America personally.
I do not think it was appropriate to make fun of someones disabilities. the "bush Baby" guy is a victim of aarskog syndrome that causes facial abnormalities and short stature and in 30% of the cases mental retardation. Making fun of ones singing is one thing, but they can't help their appearance.
