As others have pointed out, Prohibition failed in the early 20th century here in the USA.
Legally "banning" adultry would be technically frought with dangers...but I DO believe we should reinstitute divorce for CAUSE !! A married individual SHOULD pay penalties for committing adultry... and would be interesting to see how an un-married adulterer could be penalized.
Just FYI, but Adultry IS "illegal" within the US Military's Uniform Code of Military Justice. Amazing how much higher the standards are for under-paid service members... yet Congress can't hold themselves to the same rules.

No bann on drinking. It would never work. Not everyone has a problem like you. Adultry will exist with or without alchohol. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I don't think so. I agree that drinking and adultery can cause problems, but I also agree with Morey000. Our justice system is already horribly overloaded. I think that instead of creating new laws, people just need to step up to the plate and take responsibility for their own actions. They need to consider what effect their drinking or sleeping around will have on the people around them and the people they love.

No. They tried to ban drinking before - it didn't work. And adultery? How do you ban adultery?
Yes, I agree that these things can tear at the family community. But as Americans, we have the right to make our own decisions - no matter how "bad" other people perceive them as.

No.
1. it's been tried before and "prohibition" would be an impossible to control. We wouldn't have enough jails to house all the new criminals it would create.
2. Not everyone has an alcohol and sex addiction problem. I drink lightly, responsibly and am faithful to my wife.
Don't persecute me for your problems.
