If you plan to teacher elementary or secondary, in most cases you will take core classes that every other student has to take and then focus on education fudemental classes like: how to teach... math science ss and technology. I also had children's literature, and a few assessment classes.
There will be out of class time associated with most of these classes.

If you are going to teach secondary (7-12) then you will have a focus area on a specific subject or two for 7-8th. My husband is taking a bunch of history and social sciences classes for teaching 9-12.

depending on if you are a double major(like early childhood and elementary ed thats what i did) most places you will have to student teach an entire school year. some private colloges only require one semester.

The best thing to do would be to find the school you want to go to for college and talk to an admissions counselor or someone from the education department. I will include a like for a school in my area if I can find the listing for undergraduate...

I'm studying to be a teacher now. Some schools do not offer an education degree at the undergraduate level. If this is the case, plan on completing your Masters in Education or Teaching and getting your bachelor degree in one of the core content areas (math, english, history, science), psychology, or an interdisciplinary studies degree.

Hey depends on what you want to teach. If you wanting to teach high school students then you need to gain a degree in the subject you wish to teach. I would suggest one of the core subjects, either maths science or English as these are the ones that there is a shortage in. If you want to do primary school teaching then i would do what ever degree you want to do as long as you have a GCSE standard in English & Maths you'll be fine to do your Post Graduate Certificate Education (PGCE). I suggest that you one of the core subjects as to complete your PGCE you need to do a year in schools as a teacher but under the supervision of another teacher and there isn't enough placements for everyone to do so. To apply for the PGCE corse you will also need to have at least 2 weeks experience working/voulenteering in a school to get onto the corse. If your really serious about this I would suggest at looking at Strathclyde uni as it is the best teaching school. And you'd get to live in Bonny Glasgow. Good luck

If you are in the UK, you will need to to a degree and then gain Qualified Teacher Status, usually by doing a PGCE course afetr your degree.

Your degree will ideally be in the subject you wish to teach, but some unis offer 2-year 'conversion courses' where you can train to teach a different subject.

Well, it depends upn what you want to teach. For example, if you like history, major in history so that you become an expert and then take the required teacher education courses so that you can be licensed and get a job.

Most of your studies will be math, english and general education towards an associates I believe. They have advisors that are more than happy to help you setup your schedule and classes.
