Anyone here used to be an old hardcore/drum and bass clubber from around 1992 onwards? Raves like Elevation, Desire, World Dance. Venues like Roller Express or Bagleys? God I miss those days so much, nothing beat it.

yeah my favorite was desire at the island in ilford but my first rave was at the pleasuredome at skegness, i have some great memories about the 90s , mostly due to raving

best rave ever was world dance nye

baglys was the dirtyest place
i remember a guy dressed like incredible hulk and all his body paint got on evryones clothes but people were all loved up
if he did that now he would get batterd

a lot of people dont even know about hardcore! it ist happy hardcore the hardcore i liked was "what the time you have there dread."
there wernt any glowsticks but they dont know and unless you were there you just might think of it as head banging stuff like hixy and dugal. nah man hard core was the stuff what has produced some blinding talents and helped push things further
great times when it changed to drum and bass.
i went that way
i never felt any bass like the eskimo noise sound at ilford
desert storm was good also
got a bit heavy at times but i was lucky not to get into any bother just went out for fun and never got botherd but our music got a reel bad name, im glad it got rid of all the white gloves and glowsticks anyway

I used to go to a 'coffee house' in hull called xl. Sweaty walls and folk - it was great. My fave tune back then was 'can't stand no more' from e-lustrious. Wish I could hear that tune just one more time. Do you remember when the clubs closed you'd follow a convoy of cars - one carrying a generator - to try and find somewhere to pitch up? Went to helter skelter, the one in skegness (names lost) and the one at drill hall in lincoln (another name lost). Oh and the flyers that served as wallpaper........Does anyone remember The Book Of Love, Liam Howitt did a great mix. Fave MC eas Rat Pack, wonder where he is now???

my ex is in to Hixxy and Sharkey and the Bonkers compilations. A mate of mine at work DJ's quite a bit, he had a big gig at Sunshine Daze a while back, he goes by the name Mr Maddex

I personally don't listen to it, but he is good...

There's other stuff now, though, look around and you'll find a few clubs that pay homage to those days while still presenting new work.
