For eg Mumbai is capital of Maharashtra for some reasons. Are same reasons applicable to Chennai being capital of Tamilnadu or Aizwal being capital of Mizoram? If such, what are those reasons?

a capital is usually always the city which physically encompasses the offices and meeting places of the seat of government and fixed by law within that state. that city is usually the focal point of political power.
