i thank God almost every day that i'm American. this is the best country ever. :)
and in every way. i do what i want, with no questions asked. i can drive all the way across the country, i don't have to get permission or papers or anything else. i can go out in the middle of the night without being harassed about what i'm doing. i married who i wanted to marry, without being persecuted for it. i have mixed children, who are beautiful, and who haven't been exposed to the ugliness of racism. (i'm glad i live in the county i do live in.) i can say what i want. i don't have to worry about the gestapo beating my door in because i said something about a government employee. (within reason. since i don't go about making death threats, i have no worries there.)
if i don't have enough money for my bills, i can go apply for a job just about anywhere and in most cases, get hired. or i can make my own business. or i can go get a loan. i can get grants for school. i can get a credit card. i can get aid from my county, my state, or a church or something if i get into a bind. it's great that we have those systems set up to help people.
if someone harasses me, i can call the police. if something catches fire, the fire department will be here in minutes to put it out.
i can fight with people all day on the internet about this country, and none of us will get thrown in jail for not toeing the line. that's pretty cool.
i know it isn't perfect here. but when you think about the history of the world, we have it pretty damned great. and while there is still ugliness in the world, and yes, in this country, by and large, it's a pretty great place to live.

Yes. I like being able to speak my mind and make my own opportunities to get ahead. When I was unemployed for two years, I found and used several legal ways to make money and managed to get by without government or family assistance. I'm not sure that would be so easy in other parts of the world.
The only down side I can see is not having health insurance. A number of other governments have it, but not the US.

Very! We have a government, an economic system, a philosophy and a culture that provides freedom and security. It rewards work and risk-taking, yet protects the poorest. It allows for a diversity of ideas, and a government that is self-correcting.
We have FREEDOM. Many millions are trying to come here. So yes, I feel very fortunate. I am grateful to my ancestors, who came here at different times and from different places.

NO being poor anywhere sucks & the wonderful world of Disney & Holywood does NOT exist for all to have if they work hard or sow the seeds etc! There are to many phonies & liars to co-exist with here but the land is good! I do not want more people to come hear you dummies but life has been pretty harish for me in truth & i know of many others the same however they choose to paint a false hope rosey picture in lew of the real truth!

I am very fortunate becasue I have a great job I love, I have a wonderful family, a wonderful man in my life, and I am in good health.
As far as am I happy to be living in the USA? Yes. Despite our political problems, this is a very beautiful country, whether you love mountains, forrests, beaches, cities-we have it all! Most people here are decent and giving-despite what you've heard on your news, and I really like that fact that when we don't like something, we don't go burning down buildings, etc to make our point. I like the fact that there are opportunities aplenty here, and that even though this country is not perfect, it is my home, and there truly is no place like home.

Not much. I love my country and my culture. But it is so fortunate to be able to work in the United States to earn dollars and to spend them in my country.

@4 legs solid - We went to Africa in 1991 with large quantities of help and have been attacked for no reason. 30 individuals have been killed purely for attempting to help out. Google - ''Somalia 1991 UN and US'' And it is the reason u.s. is reluctant to pass over there and help returned. So do no longer let us know approximately weapons and bombs!! Africa has already shown us! the help it particularly is donated now, isn't even being given to those who choose it,..they see little or no of it, whilst others in Africa are making a large earnings from preserving all of it to themselves, to sell. this might properly be a bad undertaking, and u.s. needs to get out of dept, formerly we proceed to offer to others,..exceedingly whilst they do no longer even delight in it.

I do, but I don't feel superior to others who don't live in the U.S. We have a lot of things that could be improved in our country. I am just grateful that I live in a country that offers the opportunities that the U.S. offers, and the freedoms. I am grateful to not live under a dictatorship.

Yes I do but not out of a sense of superiority to other nations but because I love my country for it's beauty, freedoms and opportunities.
