In my school, you are unable to recieve an average higher than 99. I knew a girl who had recieved a hundred on every test, quiz, and project, had won 2 competitions in writing, and did frequent service for all teachers. She, nor anyone else in the school at that time, never skipped a grade. So, I guess that it takes more than good grades to skip.
Most likely, you are administered an IQ test and deemed too intelligent for your grade, or find yourself bored with your classes, that sort of thing.

What reasons do you have for skipping a grade?
I was a straight A student for all my school years, and was never once asked to skip a grade. If you have good reasons for wanting to skip, talk with your teachers, guidance councellor, or principal. They are the ones who ultimately make that decision, and they should know your thoughts on the matter.

You - and your parents - will need to discuss this with the appropriate administrators in your school system, since you will need their approval for this action. As for teacher expectations, they will probably be the same as for any other ninth-grader, unless your school system has other requirements.

Good luck to you!

You might want to discuss this with your parents.
