You may have a few problems going on. 1st thing is to check the level of the radiator coolant with the car cool. If too low then this will give you the exact symptoms you are getting. Also if you havent flushed out the cooling system and installed fresh coolant in a very long time, sediment that builds up in the radiator as rust can become lodged in the heater core and plug it up not allowing the hot coolant to pass through it. As coolant gets old, it becomes acidic and the PH level drops to form rust. this will also cause coolant leaks throughout the engine. It will also eat away at the water pump blades, once the blades are eaten away, then there are no blades remaining to push the coolant through the heater core. Regular Oil changes and coolant flushes are the 2 most important and inexpensive things to do for your car. If neglected, it will also become the most expensive to repair. Now if you are talking about the fan not working, then you have a bad ground to the fan, or the fan itself is going bad or the fan switch is defective. good luck.........

Maybe a cracked fuse? You'll have to test a fuse with a multimeter to see if it is cracked because they look very different from a blown fuse, you might not be able to tell if it is good. If the fuse is good, I would have to agree with a loose wire.

This may be the problem:
You ran out of coolant.
You can buy more at any store.
Not much for a bottle.
And just open the hood of your car, pour some in the coolant tank, and your heat should work.
Hope i helped.
