Under the heading for the company you have two blocks. The bottom block shows title, dates position held and responsibility of the old position...above, the same thing for the new one. This is very common.

You did mention that you were promoted last year. When last year was the promotion? If it was more the three of four months ago, then I wouldn't mention it. That's not exactly a "new" promotion.
However if it was within the last quarter, October, Novevember, or December, then it would be considered a recent promotion, and there are many ways to include this.
I would not suggest what the first person to answer said. Rather, you want to re-word your current employer's job description.
Depending on your format, when you come to the part where you list your job title, you can say in front of the job title, "Promoted, (Date)"
Or, if you have a more conversational style resume`, you can say something like, "on (date) I was promoted to..."
But the point here is that you don't want your resume` too long. And from the point of view of the "man on the other side of the desk," he wants to know what you are doing now. he's not going to care about a promotion six or eight months ago.
And with respect to making two entries for the same company, not only is it redundent and takes up too much space on your resume, the person reading it doesn't want to know what your former positions were with the company, he wants to know what you are doing now.
He'll be able to figure out if you worked your way up to that position, or were hired for that position, just by looking at your resume`.
