YES. Sometime for the health of the Mother or because 1 of the babies has a problem a selective abortion can be performed on only 1 of the fetuses.

It is possible to miscarry one twin and retain the other, but usually they must be fraternal twins, not identical or mono-zygotic twins. Aborting one twin or triplet is sometimes done when fertility treatments result in more fetuses than had been planned for. More fetuses means more health problem for both mother and babies. Talk with a gynecologist if you have further concerns.

Yes. I know if a woman is carrying multiples they can do selective abortion. If they are in seperate sacs, it can be done. But if they are identical twins I dont think so. You probably would only be able to do it if you were having a high risk pregnancy.

I suppose you could, but why would you? A twin is half of a person. Even within the womb they form a strong bond, playing with eachother and sharing a small space. Aborting one twin would be a very wrong thing to do. Abortion is wrong anyways in my opinion but this time you are going to hurt both your children. One will be dead and one will feel a loss for their whole lives. Many adults who were half of a pair but had one die at birth feel that loss.

yes.. it's possible if it's spontaneous abortion. The body has a way of aborting a baby that has too many things wrong with it, on it's own.

Actually yes, if they are in different sacs and she chooses this route early. Voluntary embryonic reduction. This is usually only offered to mothers who are expecting so many that their health may be in jeapordy (ie quints or more).

I don't see how they could because they would have to open your cervix or uterus, but passions did it on tv. I don't see how a women could do that to begin with.
