I get this trouble too in dry weather. It's a build-up of static electricity in your body that tries to weld your fingernails to the door.

Like gtimandan says, just hold the metal of the door as you put your foot out onto the ground. Solved.

Those crappy rubber strips don't do a thing, apart from earn money for the makers. The static's in your body, not the car's!

I have a 12 week previous domestic dog and we offered him a PetSafe prompt fencing device and that is mind-blowing! All you should do is plug it into an electric powered outlet and set the radius (5-ninety ft), adjust the 'correction element', post flags and that is it for installation. It beeps each and every time they arrive close to to the boundry then in the experience that they proceed and bypass, it is going to offer them a fragile wonder. My dogs has purely been very much surprised once interior the month we've had it, he hears the beep and is conscious what it ability so he strikes lower back. it is better to the in-floor platforms because you do not ought to dig the ditch for wiring, it is transportable if so you flow it is nonetheless yours and also you should take it on holiday. also, with the in-gound fence it beeps then shocks the animal once, at the same time as it crosses the line - making it not person-friendly for the animal to get lower back over the line because they receives very much surprised back. The prompt device retains wonderful them till they arrive lower back interior the set radius, upto ninety seconds i imagine. some places will cost $three hundred or more suitable for it, yet I were given it at Lowes for $280; puppy sensible runs it on sale for $280 once in a lengthy time period. bypass on their web content and browse comments of the product - that is ninety 5% advantageous feedback. i'd exceedingly recomend this, rather in case you'll get a 10% off Lowes coupon previously you bypass! It's a build up of static electricity. The easiest way to avoid it is to shut your car door by putting your hand on the window glass and not the metal.

EASY SOLUTION!

I've been doing this for many years now.

It's because of the cloth seats, typically, and your clothing. Clothes with man-made fibers make this worse. Cars with leather seats typically don't have this problem, in my experience. ANYWAY...

When you stop the car, open the door and put your hand on the metal frame of the door *before* you put a foot on the ground. Step out of the car, but do not let go of the door. Viola! Problem averted :) No sudden SNAP! of static.

Works like a charm! No ghetto-looking rubber straps needed for your back bumper, either.

It down to the clothes you wear
One way round it is to goto the car accesories shop and get a anti-static grounding strip that fits to the back or front of the car any metal surface and trails on the floor this will dicharge all the static from the car body...

Or drive around naked LOL

Static electricity when you slide off your car seats which are probably a nylon cloth. You carry this charge usually only in cold weather and low humidity. "Wear Gloves" or touch your sleeve to the car first, this will discharge the static.

That is called static electricity and it is generated by the friction of your clothes against the interior plastics of your car. If it is annoying you, you can install an anti-static strap on your car. It is a strap attached to the lower car body and it is always in contact with the ground. Sometimes you see it installed at the rear of the car.

It may sound funny, but it could be due to your underwear, if you wear a lot of nylon fabrics it stores undischarged static electricity and when you touch your car, BANG it discharges through the body work of the car!

its either you picking up static electritcy (shuffling across a carpet before you walk to your car) or it is quite possible you have a power/live wire that is touching the frame inside the door somewhere. then when you touch the door, its a little shocking. in that case, you would need to pull the door panel off and look for an exposed or crimped wire touching the metal.

It's static electricity, do you wear trainers whilst driving, this is often the cause............. EASIEST way to aviod the shock, place the PALM of your hand flat down on the roof before closing the door, this nullifies the static without the shock
