Just because someone cannot procreate doesn't mean that they should be denied the right to get married! Do you think women who use birth control or women who cannot have children should be denied the right to get married also!?! Crack is illegal and people who do crack hurt other people, someone being gay doesn't affect anyone else! Did you choose to be heterosexual or were you born that way?? Gay people do not choose to be gay, it is how God made them! Also Michael Jackson did not try to change his race, he has Vitiligo which is a skin disease that attacks and destroys the pigment in the skin!! Why don't you keep your prejudiced opinions to yourself!!

Women are not a race - and some of us can not procreate. Does that mean that the ones who can't have children should also not have the civil right to marry?
The government has decided that crack is illegal. Therefore people who CHOOSE to use it do not get special rights - they are breaking the law. Homosexuality is not illegal, so your comparison makes no sense.
What makes you an authority on homosexuality and the cause of it? How do you know it is a choice? You sound like you don't even know anyone who is gay, so I'm going to assume that your hatred is based on ignorance.

They have civil rights the same as anyone else for race, color, gender or religoius affilliation. As a long time proponent of Civil Rights and Rights for WomenI stand confused as to why there is anomosity about civil rights and the issue here.
For the record, J. Edgar Hoover was a homosexual and fought tooth and nail against Civil rights as did his homosexual friends, during the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950's-1860's. Please do not mix up the choice of being homosexual with that of race or gender. Illegal Aliens are attempting to confuse their issues and compare themselves to slavery and the Holocaust. There is no comparison.
See HR Bill 254 going through Congress to Limit Free Speech on the subject as being politically incorrect and face penalties and maybe imprisonment. It is being sponsored by the ADL and Rep Sheila Jackson-Lee a democrat from Texas... A similar law is being enforced in Canada and the European Union.
To contact Congress before it passes email, fax or call 1-877-851-6437 or 1-866-340-9281

It is funny that you mention civil rights. Any person that legaly lives in the United States is protected by civil rights. That is established in the US Constitution.
You also are touching on a very hot subject on wether a homosexual is born that way or has a choice in the matter.
I personally think that it is their choice to be public about their sexuality. Why should I say what they can and can't do? I am not God and I am not the one to judge another person. I also feel that I would be very upset if people told me I could not do something that I wanted to do... It may be a little hard to imagine, but think of something that is close to your heart and sincerely personal. Something you love to do. Now let society comment on it and tell you are wrong for doing it. Furthermore there are groups that protest your very existance.
Doesn't sound as pleasant happening to you.... Tolerance is key!

Being gay is not against the law. Smoking crack is. Denying someone civil rights based on an arbitrary discrimination is wrong. What would be next? Denying someone civil rights because they are in an interracial relationship? Denying someone civil rights because they choose to wear all black and wear black makeup and listed to NIN? Denying someone civil rights because they like Star Trek and spend most of their time playing collectible card games? You are the one choosing to make make a big deal out of this.
Discriminating against gays is no different than discriminating against race. Both of these activities are based on hate and/or misunderstanding. Also, to some discriminating against gays can be construed as religious discrimination. This is because many people discriminate against gays because the bible says so. The gays do not believe in that religious idea. So, if a person discriminates against gays based on their religion then they are doing so with a religious discrimination.
To Sassy:
Have you read what Bill H.R. 254 is about? I bet not because it says nothing about regulating speech. Nothing at all. It deals with hate crimes and it specifically says crimes involving bodily harm. Now, I am not sure but are you saying that causing bodily harm on someone is freedom of speech? Are you saying that causing bodily harm on someone based on their religion, race, color, or natural origin is freedom of speech? If so, then you really need to reevaluate your view of the world.
Here is a link to the wording of the bill.
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c110:H.R.254:
Read it and tell me where you find a passage saying that freedom of speech is going to be squelched.

You are black because you were born black, homosexuality is no different. People do not "choose" to whom they will be sexually attracted too. Come on up to modern times dude - we have moved way past the belief that homosexuality is a psychiaric disorder or "deviant" behavior.
Why should they get equal rights - because they are EQUAL people! Should a crack addicted homosexual get different rights than a crack addicted heterosexual? No. They should also not be persecuted just because they live a lifestyle YOU happen not to agree with.
Who are you to judge the validity of their rights? Once upon a time women were denied their rights, that wasn't right. Once upon a time blacks were denied their rights, that wasn't right. Once upon a time a man named Hitler tried genocide to get rid of a section of society, and that wasn't right.
Denying a person who lives within the laws of this country (ie not a criminal - criminals deserve their rights to be revoked) their civil rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is no better than sufferage, segregation, or interment camps.

I truly have not any (openly) gay family members that i understand of or perhaps I help gay rights beginning from marriage equality to permitting homosexuals interior the defense force. For the main section, cons will purely be in denial approximately how their religious perspectives will dictate the non-public lives of others even whilst the human beings they love would be effected by skill of them. Social conservatives are the biggest hypocrites on the planet.

If someone is a homosexual, and they marry a woman, and pretend not to be gay, does that mean they are no longer a homosexual?
I think they should have the same rights as other PEOPLE. Not something that is a "gay right".

they are still humans procreation has nothing to do with the alotment of rights. you as a black person should be ashamed for speaking the same way whites did about you in the 50's when blacks wanted rights. well almost. your people were called a lot of things. I would have hoped that blacks would have stood up for the rights of the underdogs. but i guess, that help is what you want, not what you are willing to give people. i just hope this is not a belief that all the black people believe in. my beliefs is that if it doesn't harm people it should be allowed.
