1.what are some of the reasons it is so difficult to pinpoint an individual artist's name in African Art.


I looked in my book but couldn't find anything on this. thanks.

1. Art is treasured more for its conformity to other artists work, so there were not a lot of different styles (besides tribe).
2. They didn't sign them
3. Artists thrived on their anonimity, especially if the works were religious pieces.
