1. Let camels=c and pigs=p

If 12c=96 then c=96/12=8 so each camel is 8 dollars or c=8

We also know that 8c+3p=85

We can substitues 8(8)+3p=85

3p=(85-64)=21
3p=21
p=7

You need to know the cost of 2p so 2(7)=14

2. 9342+(-438) * 719 +(-9340)+(-438)*(-719)

Multiply first

9342+((-438)*719)+(-9340)+((-438)*(-719))
9342+(-314922)+(-9340)+(314922)
(9342-9340)+(314922-314922)

3. Assign each person a variable.
Dave=x
Dan=y
Sara=z
Remember in word problems the word is is the same as =
Dave (x) is (=) 3 times Dans age (3y)
x=3y
Dan (y) is (=) 4 years older than sara (4+z)
y=4+z
Their ages add up to 91
x+y+z=91
Now we substitue. (since we want Sara's age the easiest thing is to solve for z)
x+y+z=91
(3y)+(4+z)+z=91
3(4+z)+(4+z)+z=91
12+3z+4+z+z=91
16+5z=91
5z=91-16
5z=75
z=75/5
z=15

Sara is 15 years old

4. Let the smallest number equal x
Sine the numbers are consecutive, you know that the next number is (x+1) and the next is (x+2) etc.
So....
x+(x+1)+(x+2)+(x+3)+(x+4)+(x+5)=615
6x+15=615
6x=600
x=100

The smallest number is 100

(You can easily check this by plugging in the answer)
100+(100+1)+(100+2)+(100+3)+(100+4)+(100+5)=615

5. If I'm not mistaken in order to solve this problem, you need the formula for the speed of light.
186,000 miles per second=the speed of light.
2,790,000 miles per gorgo=the speed of light
therefore
186,000 miles per second=2,790,000 miles per gorgo
186,000miles=2,790,000miles
----------------- = -------------------
second = gorgo

Cross multiply and divide
2,790,000(miles)(sec)=186,000(miles)(gorgo)
miles cancel each other out
2,790,000 seconds=186,000 gorgos
24 hrs per day = 60 min per hour * 24 = 1440min
1440 min = 60 sec (1440)=86400
24 hrs = 86400 seconds in a day

if 2,790,000seconds = 186,000 gorgos
the 86,400 seconds = how many gorgos?

Cross multiply and divide

(86,400)(186,000)=(2,790,000)x

16,070,400,000=2,790,000x

x=5760

There are 5,760 gorgos in our 24 hr day.

make simple first.
1) assume that toy camels as C and toy pigs as P
than you have 8C + 3P=$85 from Gary
from Larry you have 12C =$96
from larry you have C= $96/12 = $8 that's mean toy camel is $8
substitute C from equation Garry,
8*($8) + 3P=$85
$64 +3P = $85
3P = $21 --> P = $21/3 = $7 that's mean toy Pig is $7

2) Algebra operation have order that must first applied. first is multiple (*) than division (/), add(+) last minus(-)
so the first is multiple, -438*719
do the rest. if you see the equation, it have likeness, the difference is on 9342 and -9340. for 9342-9340=2, the answer is 2
3)assume dave as A, Dan as B, Sara as C
A 3 times B --> A=3B ---->A-3B=0
B 4 years old than C --> B=4+C-->B-C=4
their ages add = 91 --> A+B+C=91
you have 3 equation and 3 variable A,B,C to search. do the rest

4)assume that the number is
x, x+1,x+2,..x+5 so the smallest is x, you search for x.
add them you have x+x+1+x+2+x+3+x+4+x+5=615
->6x+15=615
->6x = 615-15=600
you have x also the smallest #.
5)you have gorgo as light travel for 2.790.000miles. assume gorgo as G
search for light speed as V=x miles/h, (search for x)
than G in 1hour is G = 2.790.000/x ..hour.
you have G as hour, then G for 24 h is G*24.

1) 8c + 3p = 85
12c = 96

what is 2p?

c = 8
3p = 85 - 64 = 21 ==> p=7
therefore, 2p = $14


3) Dave = 3* Dan
Dan = Sara+4
When you say "their ages", are you saying that all of their ages combined add to 91 (in which case, Dave+ Dan + Sara =91), or, are you saying that Dan+Sara=91?) Either way, you have 3 equations and 3 unknowns. Just use substitution to determine each of their ages...

Choose d to be Dan's age. Then 3d is Dave's age, and d-4 is Sara's age since he is 4 years older than she is.

Now just add these up: d + 3d + d - 4 = 91

That would be 5d - 4 = 91 and you can easily find what d is, then use that to get Sara's age.
