If humans sprung from animal life why don't they have belly buttons, also why no appendix in animals.

they do have belly buttons- usually it is just very hard to see. Anything that was once attached by an ambilical cord (all mammals) has a belly button.
As for appendix- some animals do have one, but it is functional and called a cecum. You will not find them in carnivores (or if you do, greatly reduced like our appendix). Cecums are a long flap coming out of the intestines and are for breaking down plant materal. There is bacteria in there specifically for breaking down the cellulose of plant walls. If they didn't have the pouch and bacteria, they would starve. That is why, for example, baby horses eat their mother's poop- to get some of that good bacteria into themselves.

Carnivors have no appendix or a reduced one because the appendix is used in digesting plant material. It has gone away. Ours is shrinking still because we have been eating large amounts of protein for a shorter length of time. Animals like the koala have a large and very neccesary appendix because they need to get all the nutrition possible out of those darn eucalyptus leaves. And yes they have belly buttons too.

Animals do have belly buttons, there's just look different because they don't have Doctors to remove them "properly". Look around under their fur and you'll probably see one. Also animals have an appendix, in fact theirs actually functions and serves a purpose. In the chicken, the appendix is called a gizzard and it's used to store gravel which aids in digestion.

Animals do have a belly button. It's located where their umbilical cord was attached. They don't need an appendix.

Animals do have belly buttons. They were attached in an umbilical cord just like you. Their belly buttons just dont look as pronounced as ours.

They do have belly buttons.... I don't believe in evolution.. but they do have both an appendix (called something else) and a navel...

Ah,this arguement.

Look closely at your dog's stomach. You'll see a little bump. There's your canine belly button. All animals have them-they just look different.

As for appendixes? They've evolved without them. They don't NEED them. And neither do we-hence why ours can be removed.

All mammals have navels. So do birds, for that matter. I would guess that reptiles may have them also. I am not a reptile expert, despite having a pet lizard in my childhood.
