I read recently that, basically thanks to the Americans, there are now more obese people in the world than starving!
What do you think?

Ok amorgan4osu. I simply meant thanks to the americans as in that country has the highest number of fat people living there which tips the overall balance of starving to obese into the obese side. You're getting offended is pointless, what I read was perportadly based on FACT. Oh and I'm Irish and we are one of the highest contributors to AID relief compared to home base population in the WORLD, we were also one of the first countries to give bulk aid WITHOUT any need for repayment. So cop on and read the question.

And I'm perfectly thin and fit thank you!

Shout out to the Irish. I believe you may have a point there in that many in the world have modeled the "USA way" of consumerist consumption. It's eat eat eat here for a lot of folks gimme gimme gimme. With regard to starving people, just an fyi. there is enough food produced yearly for all the starving people to never go hungry. The issue is getting past the greedy warlords who would rather see people starve than to put down their weapons to help their nation. It is a matter of getting it to the people who need it.
Oh and by the way. I'm Choctaw Indian and a couple of centuries back during the great potatoe famine of Ireland, a few of my ancestors sent a delegation to your ancestors to give a hand and help a starving nation. NOT GLOATING JUST SAYING "HOLITO ACHUKMA" TO A FRIEND FROM ACROSS THE POND.
and one more thing. An obese person can be severly malnourised so the fat is not guarantee that the body is accessing the nutrients it needs.

Of course it is simple minded american bashing for the sake of fashion.

No country donates as much financial aid, technology ,vehicles or assistance during humanitarian crisis as the USA.

Many nations that are suffer famine have a population that hold s a begging bowl in one hand and a kalashnikov in the other.

You can lead a horse to water , but you cant make it drink.

I think that what you are trying to ask is why Americans aren't helping the starved people of the world.... So then to extend that arguement, you are asking why the United States isn't coming in and sweeping in to save and aid countries where people are starving and dying either because their government and economy can't produce food and jobs for them, or they are so corrupt that they refuse to help those in dire need?

Oh, wait a minute, the United States has done that in Iraq, and the world hates us for doing so...

Screw you, you hyporcite. We have done our part. How about you get off your fat lazy butt and give some food to the poor yourself without relying on my government to do it for you.

You are a pathetic loser.

because of the fact human beings in "western" international places are greater knowledgeable with fewer mouths to feed consistent with family members. Westerners comprehend family members making plans very properly. human beings from third international international places do no longer understand a lot if something approximately delivery administration or family members making plans so in spite of what variety of earnings they have, they have infant after infant after infant and then no person gets an entire tummy on the dinner table.

I think we're richer and luckier than people here think we are. I one time saw in a political comic that a poor, malnourished, foreign man read the newspaper saying in america the rich are skinny and the poor are fat. The man is thinking that it must be nice.
