I live in Atlanta, Ga and I just want to travel on the weekend.

NYC, LA, SF, LV etc are too far away for a weekend ROADtrip. The best road trip depends in what you all are interested in? Want wilderness/scenic areas? Chattahoochee National Forest, Cloudland Canyon State Park in Trenton (Walker County), Lookout Mountain,Tenn., Smokey Mountains etc. Want to go gold mining? Dahlonega Gold Museum State Historic Site. Want military museums? US Army Infantry Museum at Ft. Benning, Columbus, Ga. or Museum of Aviation at Warner Robins AFB. There are Indian mounds near Cartersville. Get a good map and go everywhere.

If it's just for a 2 day weekend, I would say NY or Atlantic City, but if it's a 4 day weekend, LA, SF, or LV. I love roadtrips! Just make sure you got plenty of maps, a comfortable car, and most importantly; cool people in the car who can also drive, lol.

The best road trips would be from Atlanta to Las Vegas, or to New York.
