What is virtool.hidden run.b (also called writeboot.B) - coming across this a lot on computer that I'm repairing, What is it, Spy or Virus?

The main reason I'm asking is because virtool.hidden run.b seems to turn computers on or not allow a person to turn off.

Any links please - Info required

WriteBoot.B VirTool belongs to Virus Creator spyware category, aka Dropper.
Dropper is program, which installs adware, spyware or other kinds of malicious software in the infected users machine. Dropper software itself causes no harm, but it´s child program does. It's presence means that your computer is infected with malicious software and is insecure.
This Virus Creator is also known as:
• VirTool.DOS.WriteBoot.b - named by Kaspersky.
• VTool/wri - named by McAfee.

I would suggest an online virus scan (or two), to remove the infection. A few resources are linked below, in order of preference;

http://www.bitdefender.com/scan8/ie.html
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/home.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=23&pkj=KVLBUNFZXDBRODTQTDP&auth_status=0

I would also highly recommend disabling System Restore, BEFORE scanning to prevent almost immediate reinfection.

Hope that helps, Good Luck : )
