Listen this modern way of things just doesn't do it for me.
I have three degrees and best way has always been total silence and focus on reading rewriting notes over and over and using paper notes to link sections together in my mind.

Depending what your studying for an exam is different from doing an assignment both require discipline and high concentration.
Good luck

maybe you can bring in a tape recorder and listen to what your teachers teach in class a home for studying. Ask if it's all right though first. Or you can study with a group of friends and have them get a topic on the subject and explain what it is. I find it easy if I read my notes out loud so it sticks. I hope this helps.

Speak with a counsellor. It sounds to me like you should be assessed to see if you have an identifiable learning disability (e.g. dyslexia but that is not even a guess, I have no expertise in this regard). Then you could both get some advice, some targeted assistance and it could be made clear to your teacher that you have special needs.
