Can I be your boss, I just stepped out of the shower and smell as fresh as the mountain breeze.

Anonymously mail him a can of deodorant and a gift certificate from a local barber or hair salon - sign it "from a friend who cares". It may not be be the most polite way to handle the problem, but for your job's sake, it may be the safest. If he's got even half a brain, he should get the hint.

Whoa! It's all a matter of perspective. Your boss maybe thinks pink hair is atrocious, too. He is maybe thinking about how to toss YOUR butt out the door so he can get someone who does not look like they dropped out of some Japanese animation.

This scare kokopelli out of wits.

I think he'll be offended regardless of how you tell him. Is he married? If you know the wife, maybe you could speak to her about it, maybe his wife could do it more delicately, or maybe you could get him a gift certificate to your salon for a haircut. Talk to your stylist about what needs to be done. Put the certificate in a gift bag and include a new deodorant in the package. Or, you could just invest in some air freshener and spray it whenever he's around, or after he leaves, maybe he'll get the message.

you dont, it has nothing to do with doing your job, if he was your friend tell him but other people who aren't that level of friendship will make a petty scene about it, chances he has someone close to him that should have told him before you have to, if you really feel it wont have no adverse affect on your work relationship tell him about his body odor problem but leave his hair alone, the hair is a personal decision he is allowed to make, going there would really be crossing the line for boss and employee

You can't. Don't risk it. If the BO problem is bad, call HR. Or get someone else to do it. You need your job.
