everyone in this country should do some time of duty for the country. at the age of 18 both girls and boys should be required to do some sort of civic duty. immigrants should definitely be required to do something - if everyone was required to do something and college was provided as a result our economy would be more stable.......

If they are not citizens of the country then why should they? They already have a country to serve. If they had to do that then they should be given the same rights and priviledges, then it kind of defeats the concept of being an immigrant deosnt it? Can you elaborate on your statement "they should take the bad as well as the good"? Don't get me wrong, i do understand that those in the US military are fighting for those in the US, citizens or not. But try to be sensitive to the reasons why some people immigrate to the US. In addition, though, they should be given the option to join the military.

I dont think they should be Required. But I do think they should have the option to do Military Duty if they want to. Cause now they dont even get the option! So the American's are dying for even the immigrants lives. And Im sure some of them would sign up if they knew they could.. Damn .. MORE FREE SH!T! lol.. thats more then likely all they see anyways! like they dont get enough handed to them when they come over here!

YES! Why only want the good and not the bad? I have a 15 year old that is getting hit with all the join the military in HS.

not required to enlist....but required to register in case the draft were ever needed again.............they should however have to work here more than 8 months before being eligible for ss benefits and cripe like that

If this country had manditory military duty...yes. But since we don't, can't make them when trhe guys here do not have to do it.

I would prefer they just learn the language to start with.
I don't see why not though, they get all our "benefits"
