Inches, because muscle weighs more than fat. Your best bet is to choose a pair of jeans that you would like to fit into, and make that your goal, rather than pounds or measurements. I think this is the quickest and easiest way to measure your progress. A girl I work with measures her progress by fitting into her "pre-pregnancy jeans." Good luck!

you should focus more on inches and how you look when you are getting in the shower. If you weigh yourself it will discourage you because people body weight, style and size are so different. Muscle weighs more than fat so when you are trying to loose weight and you are walking, wight lifting or exercising, your going to gain muscle which is very important when you are dieting. That way you will tone up the extra skin from the weight loss. You may gain weight on the scale the first month or so, but you will loose lots of inches, hang in there I've been into this health thing forever. Just remember eat under 20 grams of fat per day and drink lots of water, exercise at least 20 to 40 min a day and you will tone up and slim down and keep it off. Good Luck

I believe that is determined by your workout regimen and diet. I too am in pursuit of a healthier me and maintaining a lifestyle that promotes a healthy diet and exercise. Of course you will build muscle even in doing cardio. Its minimal but it still happens. But, if the majority of your workout is spent on cardio and you have alot of weight to lose then I would look at the scale. If you have less fat to lose but want to tone or gain more muscle then of course the scale may not be your friend. If you are incorporating both then take into consideration that one week you may not lose the recommended 2 pounds. You may even gain a pound or two. So it depends. If you have consulted a physician before starting a diet and exercise plan and your health and thyroid check out fine, your eating healthy and exercising regularly and you don't lose any weight on the scale but you lose inches then you have suceeded. Also, along the way you will have to increase your workout intensity IF you still have undesired FAT in pounds. Good Luck !!!

Be blessed!!!

Inches always. If you are working out your building muscle. Everyone knows muscle weights more. You might only drop ten pounds and go from a size 10 to a 6 but you will be smoking hot. But weight yourself daily at the same time. Research shows that people who weight themselves often lose weight better and control weight gain better.

Then get a dry erase marker and write your weight on your bathroom mirror every two weeks. You will be amazed who quick it comes off. Oh, no candy, sugary soda pop, and starchy bread. USE WHOLE GRAIN. And check for high fructose corn syrup(its bad). Use bread with honey or molasses. Read lables. Eat more green veggies, less potatoes. Nothing fried at all. You will be amazed and your taste buds will be too.

properly maximum thoughts i understand to free inches contain loosing weight at the same time. including excersice for your on a daily basis rutine is a great way. such issues as weight lifting, sit down-ups, morning jogs and so on. ward off junk nutrients like pop and ice cream. I dont eat both of those anymore and now I snack on such issues as apples and oranges. yet i'm no way a professional, purely understand from some small experience. This probably wont get you down in 2 weeks like you want although..

It would make more sence to go by inches, as if you exercise and want to loose weight, chances are you may not weigh less, but may be having firm muscles. Remember 3/4 bag of muscles and 1 bag of fat may weigh the same. sorry for making it sound so yuck... but inches are what may matter, eventually u will loose weight also. All the best.

It's possible to be thin and not fit, and it's also possible to be fit and not thin. Prioritize health first, then if the inches aren't quite what you want, you can work to tone those, or other, areas of your body to achieve the proportions you wish to have.

the best judge is how your clothing fits you. you can tell you are losing weight when your clothing feels a little looser. stay off the scale as it can be discouraging
