i am going to get a few estimates but until then i am curious to know if it would be way into the thousands. i know it is hard to estimate that with out more details but if anyone could throw out some numbers. we will not be taking the plaster ceilings out - only sheetrocking over them. thanks!

It will definitely not cost you thousands of dollars unless these rooms are extremely huge and then they would not be called bedrooms they would be dormitories. A 4x8 sheet of 1/2 " Sheetrock runs about 10 dollars at Home Depot in Florida. Give or take depending on where you are. Compound mud is also relatively cheap. Labor cost will vary but there is no way it will be in the thousand dollar range. Get a book on drywall and do it yourself if capable. It's fairly easy to do .Hope that helps.

I really need the measurements, but lets say an average room, just the ceiling.plus you have the caulk and putty, the screws, and you have to sand them. If you do it yourself it would cost around 800 for 3 12 by 12 rooms, i would get a book if you do it yourself. If someone does it, worse case 1500 any more and there cheating you. My husband does it for a living so it should not be any more.but it also depends on where you live and my husband is a really good guy. I wish you luck, just be careful.

you can sheetrock over them. it usually runs anywhere from 18 to 22 a board you figure the room is 12'x12' 3 pieces at $18 is. this is using 4'x12' $54.00 a room. its going to run at least a 100 dollars a room. the $18.oo a board includes the labor hanging finishing and materials.
