It does ...but unfortunately in the wrong sense.

Today's bollywood movies are promoting love, sex and crime (in a way).

Though few movies like Rang de basanti and Guru etc. are trying to give a good meaning to life and corruption accross india. The young generation generally falls for the bad rather than the good.

There are some people who however are against bollywood movies since now it is not possible to watch any movie with your family. But, all bollywood demands is public going to the theatres and they earn and earn.. Nowadays, the public doesn't at all care what is the impact of such movies on the young generation. All bollywood film makers want is money and the public demands entertainment..

the bollywood industry is trying to move more towards "western" media to get the attention and approval of other countries...as well as respect. These actors are influenced by what the other acting industry is going through around them...and the actions...such as relationships...on and off screen. Therefore, the indian film industry applys western influence to their films for better approval overseas...people of india are then influenced by what they see in the media. the response could be either negative or positive but that generations is affected, getting a look at another lifestyle through the "western" style the indian film shows.

I was born and raised next to Hollywood in Los Angeles. We had movie and television stars in our house throughout the years. They are just like anyone else when they are away from the bright lights and movie cameras. My Aunt was a famous country music star of the 50's and early 60's before her death, so our family was used to well known stars.
