I hate text speak! Call me lazy or ignorant but I cannot read something that does not contain vowels or punctuation marks.

Please, please, please let's put a stop to this. Text speak IS lazy and downright ignorant. There are people on this site who have English as a second langauge and they have the grace and intelligence to try and write it to the best of their abilities. Why can't we give them and each other the common courtesy of returning the favour?

If anyone else is in favour of getting rid of "txt spk" then please click the little star in the question box.

Yes it is a bit annoying ... but some people may not know the usage of correct English or grammar.. If it's sheer laziness to type then it is ..I don't know what to say:) .. But correctly written English feels and looks so beautiful.. Its a fast world and people want everything instantly and without efforts.. for cell phones 'txt msgs ' may be fine to save money and time but not for Y answers... I am with you..
PS.. I hope I write English correctly ... I am jittery .....LOL
Here is my star for you...

I am firmly of the opinion that some people actually don't know how to write any other way, sadly. It is very annoying indeed.

How do they ever find anything on the net? I guess the answer is they don't - so they come to Yahoo Answers to ask their questions here.

It's lucky some of us are kindhearted and still answer their questions.

Ill be there with you mate, I hate it (i also dont understand it), I realise it is cheaper to cut your words down while sending text messages but there is no good reason on Answers its just completely annoying!!

I agree 100%. I even text in normal longhand English, even if it does sometimes take me two or three texts to say all I have to say.

I agree entirely.Let's boycott the text questioners.
If they cannot be bothered to ask questions in plain English then why should we be bothered to reply?
As you so rightly say, it's rude, ignorant and disrespectful.
If they want to use text then let them use it on their mobiles.

I agree, I've passed by questions because I couldn't understand what was being asked.
