Depends on if you mean to add them together, to multiply them together, or what.

10^18 = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000
10^-18 = 0.000000000000000001
10^18 + 10^-18 = 1,000,000,000,000,000,000.000000000000000001

The system of looking at powers of 10 is called scientific notation, and as you can see, it's a handier form of working with very large or very small numbers. Who wants to have to count all those zeros?
