Dear Doc. Thanks for your service to our country. Respect. My Dad is a retired Commander in the Navy. (Cuban missle crisis).

However, by your logic, the 3000 Americans killed on Sept would in no way justify the Bush reaction, which has ultimately killed 3000 more Americans, as well as 650,000 Iraqis, who as we know did not attack us. Not that that argument needed any help.

That video doesn't even begin to tell what we have lost. Just read the two Patriot Acts that were passed.

Sorry, I don't watch videos or go to the various blogger websites. What have we lost? Our ever lovin' minds. So many people who've completely lost focus on what is right and good. They are all about "Self." What have we gained? A great deal. We now see loud and clearly how academia has failed us. So many people don't know a thing about history -- even what happened in recent years. We've gained a clearer perception of just how far leaning (to the left) the news media truly is. Here's a classic example...
If you go on last week's published numbers of (U.S. military) deaths in Iraq, 3015 in just over 3 years and you disect the numbers, you'd be surprised to find that you stand a greater chance of being seriously hurt in a traffic accident here than does a military member dying in Iraq. Do the math! 365 days times 3 equals 1095. Now divide 3015 by 1095. Your answer, 2.76 men per day. In a good month, Patton lost 57.78 men a day in 1944. This, going up against a uniformed, easily identifiable enemy. The media is pushing for us to believe that all is lost. That we've lost so many men, that it's just not worth continuing. They avoid at great cost, comparing and contrasting facts. And, they don't want you to either. Fat, happy and stupid.
The trouble with "news" services is, they don't tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. And videos? Can you say, "Quote out of context?" Now then, do you know the definition of sedition?
My hat's off to your father.
But you see, here is where the spin doctors in Washington have really screwed things up misreably. Bottom line is this, we went to war in Afghanistan because of 9/11, pure and simple. We went back to Iraq because of the 17 U.N. brokered Cease Fire Agreement/sanctions that were repeatedly violated. And about those WMD, if people would look back to the days of Jimmy Carter's presidencey, they would find that he gutted the CIA, thus leaving us blind and reliant upon foreign intel to try and get a clear picture. And then move ahead to the Reagan years when we were backing Saddam and sold to him, the technology to make such weapons that he then used on his own people. It all comes back to roost. My opinion? It should never have been the job of the U.S. to enforce the U.N.s sanctions. But the U.N. was too corrupt. Ban's having taken over is seeing quite a few changes. Begining with formal charges having been filed in the "Food For Oil" scam. Along with some 300+ cases of rape and pedophilia now being investigated fo having been committed within the last two years -- by U.N. members. The problem in Iraq currently is what's going on behind the scenes. It wasn't until the Iraqi's were about to have an election that all of this terrorist bombings began. Who's behind it? Iran. Why? Iran is sitting atop the world's third largest known oil deposit and yet, last year, was unable to export even a single drop. Instead, they had to import just to meet their own supply and demand issues. Last month's prices at the pumps in Iran was a whopping 38 cents a gallon. It's state run and unfortunately, they've not taken the profits and put them back into R & D. The money's being used in social programs. That means, Iran's wells are now all over 50 years old and are producing at a declining rate of 13 % a year. The national policy towards foreign oil companies is less than friendly, to the degree that only the Italians are willing to deal and they are doing it at a loss. All of this also explains Iran's want/need for nuclear power. Unfortunately, Iran also supports and exports terrorism and the biproduct from that power is weapons grade, enriched uranium. Can they be trusted? The guy's a loon to say the least. He knows that by our history, if pushed hard enough, we will cut and run. America doesn't have the stomach for much of anything other than 99 cent heart attacks sold at McDonald's. So, if we cut and run, Iran will just move in, either with invitation or not. Remember, they are our sworn enemy -- not that I can blame them really. But, with our economy so dependent upon oil, do we REALLY want to rely on someone who has sworn an oath to GOD to kill every last one of us?
As for the Patriot Act, All I can say is history repeats itself. I apologize if I derailed your question/answer moment.
