go to Phillip Morris.com - they offer free programs to help you.
Also, check with your health insurance. THEY and your loved ones would LOVE for you to quit and so would I. Go to www.youtube.com and watch the commercials over and over again - they are brilliant. The last one I saw last night night was about people walking around blocks of ice, the ice blocks shattered and inside where baby dolls with the quote "1 in 100,000 (?) babies will be left motherless this year alone. CONGRATS ON THREE DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Next time you go for a pack of cigs, buy a tea or coffee, juice or rag mag instead (you can actually buy two or three with that $$$). Keep it up. I KNOW ITS HARD! When my day is crappy, I want one, I cut down to one per day sometimes two and then it didn't seem worth it. If you've got kids - look to them, play with them, if you've got friends give them a call, if you've got enemies, buy the cigs for them (just kidding) if you can't find anyone else - email me @ mscarlybobarly@yahoo.com. If we all continue to smoke, instead of dying @ 80-90 yrs old (and driving everyone batty and peeing in my pants and yelling at kids to get off my lawn), I'll die @ 50-60 yrs old, when I could have taken a trip/cruise/mowed the lawn/smiled at grandkids/looked forward to seeing my daughter falling in love (and making sure it's the right guy I approve of) KEEP IT UP, YOU'RE DOING GREAT! Stick you face in a pillow and scream until it passes. xoxoxo. I'm glad you are still here, even though i don't know you. Pat yourself on the back, it's been three days (even if you cheat, it's ok) - hide the matches, lighters and gas/electric stove - also, don't smoke in the house! and pick up a stupid hobby (i chose fill in mags & needlepoint to keep my hands busy-but enough about me. GOOD LUCK, you're doing great.

I was a two pack a day gal and smoked for 29 years. I noticed the lines on my face caused by smoking. So I put them down. I relapsed and had one now and again the first year, but since then I haven't touched one. It's been 6 years now. I can't stand the smell of them, or the stink of people who smoke. They have no idea how they smell and I was so embarrassed to know that I used to be one of them. The first year is one minute at a time. change your habit, clean everything, and stay away from smokers. If you stop now you will avoid getting those lines on your lips.

3rd day? I feel like I should ask YOU for advice. Yesterday was my quit date, and I wound up smoking 3 cigarettes. I made it half way to work this morning and then smoked one. I've been taking Chantix and that helps a little, but every time I get in my car I feel like lighting up.
I am really proud of you for not having smoked in three days. If you were able to make it this far, keep reminding yourself of your strength every time you get a craving. I've been chewing on low-fat breadsticks, or just pretend I'm smoking an imaginary cigarette. That seems to help me most of the time.
I'll be happy when I can make it through the day.
Keep up the good work

Oh I feel you there. I am on day 6!. I have found keeping my hands busy helps. The urge will always be there though. I have found avoiding places I would go to buy smokes helps too. Hang in there. IT really is for the best.
I recently found out I have nodules on my vocal cords (due to allergies, I cough instead of sneeze, and to the point I throw up) Because my throat is now "tore up" I am more likely to develop throat cancer. Seeing the commercially for TRUTH where the cowboy is sining you don't always die from tobacco through his trech hole really was a good deterrent.. Too many of us think it can't happen to us... but it can

Its real hard, i know what you're going through but you have to take it one day at a time. I gave up six years ago and it was hell, but just kept telling myself i got this far and not giving up now, after 2 weeks the craving for nicotine should go but youll still want to feel thst cig in your hsnd. Try getting a false one to get over that stage and wean yourself off it gradually.

I shall give you a list of why not to smoke, maybe it'll help, I gave up last year :
IT MAKES YOU STINK.
Your skin will age about 10 years more than you.
You will die a horrible slow painful death
You'll never have any money
You end up with stained rotten teeth.
Your sense of smell and taste suffer.
WELL DONE. KEEP IT UP IT IS WORTH IT IN THE END AND WHEN THE NO SMOKING COMES IN YOU'LL NOT HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE IN THE ELEMENTS.

Remember that it is just a craving and it will pass. Well done on getting to day 3, it does get much easier, just keep going and grit your teeth through the pain.
