Depending upon how much damage was done, you will either need an ignition lock cylinder and/or an ignition switch. These are a little tricky to replace as they are in the dash. Once replaced you will also have to electronically program the Passlock theft deterrent that is encoded into the system. If your ignition is turning and not starting, it is probably the Passlock that has been enabled to disable the car. Good luck.

The ignition cylinder has a pass lock sensor built into it (theft deterrent). That's why it won't start. You need a new ignition cylinder. GM Pt # 12458191. This cylinder can be coded to your original key.
