Didnt all the games utilize it? I remeber on sonic, all the buttons did the same things. Mortal combat you had high punch, high kick, low punch, low kick, and two block buttons. Most other games just mirried the buttons from a,b,c to x,y,z.

all of the games ultilized the 6 button controller, they either did what the regular buttons did or they would do some sort of button combonation.
