Depends upon the type of birth and the woman. I had an uncomplicated delivery and was up and about before I ever left the hospital. There are no rules about going outside. I think I did grocery shopping about 4 days later with my husband watching baby. You don't want to take baby out in public unneccesarily in the first few weeks. Congratulations!

I have had 3 children, after giving birth I was back into day to day living as soon as I arrived back home from Hospital. With each child of cause there was more to do so I didnt have time to think whether I needed the rest or not. I guess its up to you and how you feel, but the sooner you get up and about the better, it will help your body and muscles to recover and go back into shape.

Unless there are other problems childbirth is no reason to stay hidden in yoru home unless it's just that you want to rest. You have been through a LOT! I was grocery shopping with my first when she was 3 days old. With my second I did tend to stay around the house for several weeks, but that pregnancy had been very difficult and I had a lot of recuperating to do.

Generally speaking (so long as your baby is healthy) there isn't one. It will do your child no good to shield them from germs. Actually it could potential be harmful to do this. I'd say when you feel ready to face the world go ahead and go out. Staying in adds to the baby blues. I never stayed in more than a day or two and my kids were none the worse for it.

There is no time span. It's all about how you feel. For me, it felt good to get out as soon as I could.

There is no specific time but I wouldn't suggest running a marathon either. Take it easy and go with how you're feeling. You'll be surprised how going out for just five minutes could change your mood. If you don't go out, you'll fall into a rut.

3 week till a month. If you feel up to it earlier, maybe you can take small walks, but not too long outside.
