when it is day, objects in the earth absorb the heat. When nightime comes, they start to release it so the environment becomes cooler. Finally by dawn, because all the heat has been released away, it's colder.

As you sleep through the night your core body temperature drops a little. When you begin to stir or start waking up in the morning the first thing to happen is your body ramps up the works and you warm up. Your body is warmer and thus the room feels cooler. Make sense?

You are active during the daytime, so you warm up. You are inactive in the nighttime, so you cool down. You cool down over time so you lose body heat and the rays of the sun hasnt warmed anything up yet.

It is called radiational cooling. Has to do with the air temp and ground temp when the sun comes up. Check any weather site or check definition of radiational cooling.
