He is a nice guy but he cannot shut up! You get 15 seconds to talk and that's it!!! He's 58 years old and you ain't gonna change him now.

Interrupt them by speaking loudly. If they think it's rude tell them that epic conversations that aren't really conversations are rude. I have a friend who talks none stop about nothing if I go into anything complicated like politics or philosophy he tends to shut up but, is no longer interested.

I think it's a false domination thing. Either that or arrogance. We need to allow others to speak because their knowledge could be just as valuable. When you allow people to talk it shows strength to give someone the floor it also shows a common appreciated ethic of communication.

Try to be polite but tune him out at the same time. Use generic answers like "uh huh" or "oh yeah?"

what you do is you outtalk him . make a contest out of it. he must know he has a big mouth. out talk him it will be real funny.
