Ben Franklin had a long list of things for checking oneself before someone else called attention to his faults. When I began looking in to this, a shorter list was given to me and thus this search continues for a practical way for application: jealousy, anger, resentment, greed, egotism, arrogance, discontent, complaining. Anyone have something other than "theory" and is based on your actual application?

He had a list of 13 virtues. One good presentation of these is at www.school-for-champions.com/character/franklin_virtues.htm and I wonder you have any experience applying this?

while not having used that exact list, i have dealt with those emotions ,,,,, i think as you live your life, and mature,,,,, life experiences help resolve many of those issues,,,,,,, for example, jealousy,,,, your mind will store the past instances of when you felt that,,,,, and how that emotion did not serve you well, and perhaps was even proved false,,,,,,, i was kind of jealous of my friends who purchased a new home (we had all lived in the same apartment complex for years), i was envious,,,,, while yes later i also purchased a home (not quite as nice),,,,,, i would be jealous when i visited them,,,,,then their son started having problems,,, now their son is facing jail,,,,, is strung out on drugs,,, while mine is a A college student,,,,,,, their money and nice home in the long run was not anything to be envious about,,,,,that lesson, years ago, sort of killed any jealousy i had in me, towards anyone,,,,,,i am able to be happy with my situation, or take steps/set goals to change it
