- Check if there is a Wimax (not wifi) provider in your area
(about Wimax: http://www.intel.com/netcomms/technologies/wimax/index.htm)
=> if yes, you can subscribe, check with the provider which hardware you need.
- Check if there is a wifi hot spot in the area. You would need a wifi wireless card
- Subscribe to a cable company. Then use a wifi router to have wifi connection at your place.

1. If your going with ADSL or have ADSL already buy a Wireless Router you will also need a Wireless PCI Card also.
2. If your going with Cable or have Cable already then get a Wireless Router hook it up the modem and install a Wireless PCI Card into your computer.
3. You will need a Wireless PCI Card
Basically with wireless you need a Wireless PCI Card that enables your computer to access the internet through a Wireless Router which costs any were from $60 and upwards the more you pay the better the router and quality.
Wireless PCI Cards cost around $40 and upwards and again the more you pay the better and quality is better.

All wireless does is connect your PC to your router. It doesn't give you an internet connection unless your router is connected to the internet.
If you cant get connected by BT you have two options:
1. Get cable (for which you'll need a different router)
2. Hitch a ride on somebody elses wireless network who DOES have an internet connection. This option is morally questionable and probably illegal!

You still need a phone line even with wireless. Wireless sends the signal from your computer to the router which is connected to your phone line. Best bet for you would be to pop in your local PC store and they will tell you all about it. Do not listen to those who mock wireless. I have had it a year now and it works fine. I have high speed up and download times. Cable phoneline makes no difference which you have. Usually you can get a deal for free phone calls if you have the phoneline.
Why has BT cut you off? You will not be able to use their router if you are not registered with them as a customer.

You mean 'wireless' as in not having to connect it via a cable to any fixed socket. Possible, but not cheap or easy. You can use a mobile phone to connect to the internet if it's digital and supports data-mode connections. Then you will need additional hardware for your PC to take a PCMCIA card modem. Then you will spend a lot of time setting up the software, etc., and there is the more expensive bill for your mobile! Or you can use satellite internet connection. Your costs are going through the roof.
As suggested, if you can close neighbours who will share a broadband connection, offer to pay for your share and see if they will let you use their ISP.

You said you have a wireless router. Just get a wireless card for your HP desktop and access the router wirelessly.

Do you have cable?
Chances are your computer has a lan port which is what you need. Contact whichever internet service provider you want, usually your local phone company or cable company has the best prices/connection speeds and see how much it will be to install it, or have a friend or someone install it for you, as long as there exists a connection to your house from the cable/phone lines.

depending on where you are...if you can get the interenet over your satelite dish you are set to go. you need a wireless router and a wireless card for your computer. I think most providers tell you what you need and help you hook up. Also, if you have a neighbour they might be willing to share there wireless connection if you give them a little money....good luck
