We are planning to take two 4x4 vehicles, and drive the entire route. Before anyone jumps in, we know how big this is, that is why we have given ourselves 2 years to plan and fund raise for it, just wondering if anyone has done it or knows of anyone who has. Any comments will be welcomed.

Yes, I have. Start at Egypt, Libya, Chad, Zaire, Angola, South Africa, and turn back through Mozambique, Kenya and again Egypt. Wonderful. It's a big big tour.

hi, in the adventure that your in africa, and circulate to a interest reserve, you do no longer choose to stay in a hotel. i choose to advise the tented camps interior the Kruger national Park. there is one close to Oliphants, and yet another very superb one in Skakuza. interior the tented camps you get to pay attention the wild animals at night. Or as suggested in the previous, there is the Pilanseburg, that's lots closer to Johannesburg. the different benefit of Pilansburg is there is not any malaria. Malaria medicine is expensive, and not one hundred% evidence. yet there continues to be the vast 5, and that's in an extinct volcano! although that's small and you will "do" the entire park in 2 days.

Load up with good first aid kits. Get vaccines against some tropical, foodborne and waterbourne diseases. Carry simple clothing and stuff. Have solid hiking shoes. Lotsa sunscreen. Water purifying tablets will be important away from bigger cities.
Whatever you do, avoid Somalia.
