"It does help a lot to have a mug of coffee, without sugar/milk. hot , if u want to keep awake. splashing face with cold water used to work with me try it?? try and finish work as soon as u get back home. so u can sleep when u feel sleepy. Avoid eating to your hearts content before working. It should help."
You're right about this. But problem is I don't really like coffee. I've never tasted this, and I didn't like it. Second, I can't afford cold water here in my dwelling (unless in winter months); our water is always warm. Should I really consider taking sleep suppressants?

Make yourself uncomfortable. Sit in a hard chair at a table not in your bedroom. Make sure it's cold in the room. You will find it very difficult to sleep in those conditions.

Try doing your homework before dinner. You'll think better and be more awake.
