it's a scam. first of all, do you participated in any lottery? if no, how they know your address? do you still think it is legal? here's an article about online phishing:

It's a scam. It is illegal for U.S. citizens to collect money from foreign lotteries. That is not to say that if you are visiting England, you can't buy a Lotto ticket and win. You can. But you are not eligible to be entered into a lottery by someone else. I know this sounds confusing, but the bottom line is that you didn't win anything, this is a scam. Leave it alone.

first question you should ask yourself is did i participate in a on line lottery, if not its impossible to win anything and that e-mail is a scam, if you did participate you should have all contact information from when you bought a ticket, use that information to see if you actually won something.

good luck

If you played the National Lottery online and won the jackpot. I believe they'd phone you.

Don't rely on any such emails. They will make you believe and will ask you to pay some initial money (around $100) for starting the processing.

It's like they will try to collect hundreds or thousands of $100 by sending millions of emails. See, Easy money for them. So, please ignore such mails.
