I have a small framed body and have 38 d boobs. I feel this is mostly the cause of my pain. We took xrays and she said I have mild scolioses(notspelled right) anyway. She said I gotta go thru physical therapy services in order for the insurance to pay for the breast reduction surgery. Has anyone been thru this? The therapist said I do have scolises and that my pain is caused by stress and my muscles are very tight in my back. Do u think I have a chance at having a reduction?

I had serious back neck and shoulder pain because of my breasts. when I had my breast reduction that pain went away immediately!

I went through it almost one year ago. I did not have to go through any physical therapy because the size of my chest was so large they accepted me without it.

You would have to talk to a plastic surgeon more to find out if you'd have to do therapy or not. SOME insurance companies want you to lose weight or go through therapy, but some do not (like mine). Its all in how picky your insurance company/plan is.

http://www.breasthealthonline.com is a great place to find others who have had breast reductions and what they had to go through to get insurance coverage. Register there and check it out :) They have an insurance section just for this.

breast reduction was the best thing I ever did. I ended up with a psych evaluation for the insurance in order for it to go through, I stated the pain caused emotional stress and made me worried about my looks now and in the years to come. It took one over the phone interview with the insurance (Oxford) and a recommendation from my primary care doc and specialist and I was on my way, I'm a 36 C now and it made a world of difference. Someone mention Chiropractic outlet for this. Though it is great for most and many sware by it, for me, it was a temporary fix for an ongoing problem. Really go to a specialist ask your doc for the referral. You'd be happy you did.

May I please suggest, before surgery, go to a good Chiropractor.

One or two adjustments will most likely fix the problem, then one a month to keep it right.

While they might not be quite as attractive, a full figure support bra should help some also. I am a D, my daughter is a DD, my daughter in law is an F, my Mom was a DD. What can I say, it runs in the family. Although my Mothers Mother was an A.

Try that Chiropractor. I'm sure he or she can help you out. I have gone since I was a child. 6 years old was my start for migraines. But a correctly aligned body can feel so much better. It takes just a few minutes and no pain. But the relief of pain is wonderful.

I just thought of something else that helps me lose fluid from all over my body and at least 1/2 to 1 cup size in my breasts.

Get unsweetened Cranberry concentrate from a health food store. 8 ounces mixed with one gallon of water makes the drink.
Drink 6 to 8 ounces before every meal. It flushes toxins and excess fluid out of your body. (you will peep like crazy.) But your puffiness will go away, along with some of your breast weight.
It is from "The Fat Flush Plan" diet book. It flushes toxins from your kidneys.

My Dads kidney specialist recommended this 40 years ago.
Good Luck.

My niece at 16 yrs old and a 5'4" frame had 38DD's. It was causing her spine to curve. She had to quit dancing becase of it. If the doctor will write it as the scoliosis is caused by the extra weight at your chest, then your insurance should pay for it. Because it is causing health problems.
