The programme was aired about five years ago. It was about the lives of people living on a Northern council estate. the lead character was called Tracy, she had a few kids by different fathers, one was called Macauly. Her dad was a small time drug dealer who sold cannabis and lived in a superior council house. he was considered "clever" by the other residents. The main themes were shoplifting, drugs and other crime. Tracy's partner once stole a cow, I can't really remember why. Her son won a place at a grammar school but she didn't let him go as he would miss his friends.

If anyone can remember what this series was called I would be very grateful.

Yes, I remember it well but cant recall the title at the moment. It was set in Leeds and made by C4. Most of it was filmed in Halton Moor. Her partner stole the cow to sell for meat, thats why he was cutting it up in the kitchen sink. The lead actress was an unknown at the time.

It is called Tina goes shopping and the follow up was Tina takes a break
