The reaction from so many people who say not enough is being taught tells you that the answer to your question is "yes". In fact schools are asked to teach so many different things that in many cases they are unable to teach any of them well. A lot of the things we are asked to teach are not really academic. They are things people used to learn from their parents. Today, though, when parents spend very little time with their children, raising kids has fallen upon the schools. Other things have been mandated by political leaders with varying agendas. As schools are asked to teach more and more topics that have little to do with "education", less time is available to teach meaningful curriculum.

Here in the states, there's not enough being taught. We are currently spending too much of the day dealing with security and behavioral problems that there is just no time to teach everything. We're missing something important here and need to start following the examples or other model educational institutions around the world.

The curriculum being taught in most classes is hard to follow and some seems outdated. I'm a little luckier because with creative teachers even outdated or boring lessons can be informative and even fun. I don't ever feel like i'm trying to learn too much at once and think they could add more.

yes..they try to teach things that a parent usually would/should...but with today's society, parenting is not something that many people "bother" with, so it has fallen upon the schools to deal with things like diversity and social issues.....too bad they don't teach more of what it takes to succeed in life, they have to spend too much time trying to teach understanding of others
