This is the Cogito of Descartes the philosopher "Cogito cogito, ergo cogito sum"
It is about conscious. How do you analyze it?
Note that this is a philosophical question, feel free to elaborate using simple words please.

I think a person`s ability to think shows his existence, with a condition, this thinking should be CONSCIOUS.

Descartes was looking for what is deffinitely REAL and true.

He decided that the world around us could be fake, and that he could be dreaming it all right now and that, at any moment, he may wake up to 'reality'. (note: the Matrix was based off of this idea)

So he decided that life wasn't guaranteed REAL.

Then he looked at math. Whether he is dreaming or not, 1+1=2. It's just the way it is, right? Well, maybe not. Maybe, he argued, there is some supreme being or benevolent force emposing those mathmatical equations into his brain and that he merely BELIEVES them to be true, not that they are.

But then, he thought, if something is putting ideas into my brain, that means I at least have a brain with which to reason (not necessarilly a physical brain, mind you). If he can THINK, then he has to exist in some form or another. All else is not sure, but of existance, he was totally confident.

And I agree with that good enough.

By the way, I think you're mixing up your quotes, combining Rene Descartes with the Little Engine that Could.

The engine said: "I think I can, I think I can" and Rene Descares said: "I think, therefore I am".

Either way, I think you got it right on, good analysing.

Hi,

I think that being conscious to have a conscience is something that made the human realise that he is a part of the world. An individual item.

In the world, if you don't realise that you have a conscience, (maybe the animals cannot think to that), you are only part of a group.
What you do (including animals that are lonely because they are excluded by the others animals) is always depending of the group , your familly.. the bigger entity that is surrounding you.

It should be concious but because the sub-concious does'nt have a sense of humour & takes things literally, "i think i am" therefore becomes what the sub thinks, especially all sorts of mental probs.

I think Descartes is translated as "I think, therefore I am". Meaning that we exist as long as we have free thought. I lean more towards, "I think, therefore I am..... undecided". Especially ordering pizza.
