Do emo people always cut there wrists? I am not an emo/goth hater im just asking because im emo/goth myself. But I think its stupid to cut your wrists. Or are emo haters just saying that because thats what they think? Either way I still LIKE emo/goth...and we can SMILE!!! lol i want good answers.

No. Not all emos or goths. It is stupid to try to attempt suicide though, or whatever they get out of slitting their wrists. Why go through the pain?

Cutting wrists? It's called self-injury. A psychological behavior, not part of some trend. Anyone who does this repeatedly, habitually, and makes any attempt to hide it isn't doing it just because they're goth or emo.
I also cut my thighs and stomach, where no one can see. And I can tell you, just because it's associated with these 'sub-cultures' doesn't necessarily make it part of them.
I think so many people (but not all) who are emo/goth and cut themselves are attracted to the style/music/etc because they can relate to the pain expressed in it. For me, it goes so much deeper than a style of dress or music preference. Actually I rarely have the time to dress all up in black because it's such a complicated style and takes forever for me to get right...I usually just look like anyone else. But, I find my interests and beliefs are rather consistent with a 'darker' view of the world.

Emos and goths don't always cut their wrists because not all of them are depressed or hostile towards themselves. However, Emo and Goth subcultures do tend to attract people who are depressed and/or hostile towards themselves, so you'll find a higher proportion of wrist-cutters than in the general population. It's important also to understand that not all people who cut their wrists want to die. Generally, people who cut their wrists may feel emotions that seem out of control, sadness or even rage, and they say that cutting somehow allows them to express this. Often these are very kind people who may feel anger or frustration towards other people in their lives, but are unable to express it because they feel that that's not something they want to be, so their anger and rage and frustration and sadness turns inward, because self-harming, even self-destructive. Sometimes cutting gives expression to those feelings, allowing those feelings to be defused.

Most emos and goths cut their wrists because of serious depression and they find it easier to deal with the physical pain more than mental pain. My cousin is a goth she loves black she listens to the certain type of music they do (not sure what that is) but she does not cut her wrists so not all of them do! Its kinda a way of life for people like they listen to that certain type of music and they love wearing black and stuff like that. some of them are really serious and they are goths and emos because of their depression but others just like the look of it all.

Not everyone that is emo cuts their wrists, but not everyone who cuts their wrists is emo. Some emo people probably do cut their wrists, as they have serious emotional issues and need help. Likewise, other people of other cliques can cut their wrists too when they get depressed. It all depends on the person and how far they're willing to allow their emotions to get them.
People cut their wrists due to their emotions. These people are clearly emotional, and the word emotional is now abbreviated to the well known word 'emo', ...
"the word emo has often been viewed as short for "emotional." (as taken from wikipedia.org)
...and thus comes the stereotypical view of emo people cutting themselves. (I am not calling you stereotypical, I just couldn't think of another word!!! :P)

nope! I used to, but I've gotten out of it. It's not that hard to fall into when your life seems so hard. Some unemo people cut themselves. Emo is more of a music style anyway. It's just our emotions that we want to express.

I think that the emos and goths that are cutting their wrists are taking that style a tad bit too far. They might do it just because "Ok, I'm emo..I must cut my wrists". I know you guys smile, you guys are awesome! : )
