Yes, Clinton should have resigned.
Not just because of perjury or corruption; but because he just played games and was never a real president.
If Sandy Berger hadn't destroyed classified documents, Clinton might have ended up in prison over 9/11.
(Sandy Berger was one of the heads of the Clinton Adminstration. He got caught stealing and destroying classified information to protect the Clintons from the coming 9/11 Commission Investigation.)

What President created problems on their own? I suppose you are suggesting Bush. Was Iraq a problem or not? Well, the UN apparently thought so. They were passing resolutions and using arms inspection teams, so obviously they thought Iraq and Saddam was a problem. Was the war warranted? Perhaps, perhaps not. But the President was supported almost unanimously by Congress in waging the war, so where is the "on thier own" part of the Bush record?

You assume that the president has all power. He does not. No president in the history of the US has caused problems on his own. None of them should ever be asked to step down unless they break the law. Even Nixon was not really guilty of anything that would cause the resignation of him. Quit trying to blame everything on one person.

Presidents retire from office with "Full Pay for Life" benefits. For example GW earns $400,000 per year and when he leaves office will continue to collect that full amount for the rest of his life. It all translates into millions of dollars. Would you quit your job if you knew you were going to get a full pay check for the rest of your life for doing nothing?

They enjoy riding high on the hog and all the status and power that comes with their position. Sadly most politicians are there to serve themselves with little real regard for humanity.
BIRDSNAKE: Who is Sandy Berger?
THANK YOU BIRDSNAKE.
