Are we a democracy? I thought a democracy was when the government obeyed the wishes of the people, our wishes are never asked for or catered for, does our government ever ask us if we should go to war, or join the EU, or let in hundreds of thousands of immigrants, there for we must live in a dictatorship, we have no say.

Viva le revolution.

Which international locations has usa inspired? the united kingdom is a Parliamentary democracy. The monarch has no political skill or perhaps the best Minister won't be able to independently produce law. in actuality usa President has far greater guy or woman skill and autonomy than the British best Minister. by way of fact the tip of WW2 there has in no way been a time wherein the united kingdom replaced right into a dictatorship and the monarchy is a constitutional place as Head of State without skill to dictate something.

In theory we are a democracy as the people vote their MPs into Parliament and the MPS make the laws.

The Queen is Titular Head of State but she does not make laws - she gives the power to Parliament to do that.

Thats basically a democracy.

We don't have a "Constitution" like America has, we just have our rights under the Law. I don't see it makes a difference really. We know what our rights are we don't need a document listing them.

Sadly Blair is an arsehole who takes no notice of what the British people think but then again Bush is no different in America.

When Tony first won and went to the Queen, she said, 'Mr Blair the most important thing to this country is one man one vote.' He has been the one man voting ever since.
