How to get to Shihlin night market (Taipei) from Rebar Crowne Plaza by public transport?

Anyone staying in Taipei willing to tell me how to get to Shihlin night market from Rebar Crowne Plaze hotel which is at Nanjing Road Sec 5 by public transport (bus/MRT)? What is the time needed to use by public transport and what will be the transportation cost? Tentatively if I take a cab from my hotel what will be the taxi fare to the night market?

Hi,

Step out of the Hotel , turn right to the traffic lights and walk to Zhongxiao E Rd and the SYSM ＭRＴstop:(Sun Yat Sen Memorial ) about 5 mins in this weather.

From there you have to go to Jiantan MRT stop for the Shihlin NM. (Take the Blue line to Taipei Main Station, and switch to the Red Line for Jiantan MRT stop）MRTfare about NTD 30 one way. (About 20 mins once on the MRT)

Or Cross the Road and take the 307 bus to Taipei Main Station (NTD1５)and then take the Red line to Jiantan MRT. (NTD20)

Note:The Shihlin NM is NOT at the Shihlin MRT stop

All the hotels can provide transport details or directions to Taxi drivers. Shilin market should be 15-20 min taxi ride 250-300NTD maximum, depending on traffic. Make sure you carry a hotel name card for your return trip.

Take #288 bus at the nearest Kwang Fu Rd bus stop (15NT), and take it to the Chung Shan MRT stop (on Chung Shan Rd.). Transfer to the MRT and take the Tan Sui track to Shilin.
