I tried using the recovery disks they are not working. I do have Windows XP?.....HELP!!

NTLDR is new technology loader, you will have to replace this file from the windows xp cd rom

first u need to boot from the cdrom,so go to ur computer's BIOS and change the boot order to boot from cd rom ( normally BIOS can be accessed by pressing the del,f1,f2.f12 etc while booting, it varies from manufacturer)

once it boots from cd it will start up the xp installation on the third screen u will get an option saying 'press f8 to enter recovery console' press f8 and it will take u to a command prompt.

then type in the cd drive's letter (like d: or e:)
then type in cd i386
then type in copy ntldr c:\eindows press enter,
type exit and take out the cd and reboot the system,
this will solve the problem

ntldr is a file that boots your operating system you could have a friend with xp copy the file and give it to you.
